This is an 8mm focal length eyepiece built around the Plössl optical design.
Optimized for "on-axis" sharpness, this eyepiece goes further by incorporating premium high-index glass elements to minimize edge distortions such as astigmatism and lateral color. The result is improved clarity across the entire field of view, especially when compared to typical 4- or 5-element Plössl or Orthoscopic designs. It's particularly well-suited for fast focal ratio telescopes, where its performance benefits become even more pronounced.
Fully multi-coated optics enhance light transmission and contrast, while blackened lens edges and internal anti-reflection threading help reduce stray light and reflections—bringing out the finest image details. The sharper field sharpens dim starlight into discernible points, allowing for extended viewing before needing to adjust non-tracking mounts.
