Do you have two quality Takahashi products you'd like to put together, but it won't quite work? Then relax... Takahashi has devised a way to enjoy both your Tak FSQ 106 and their premium diagonal in an inexpensive way.
Because theTakahashi FSQ-106 refractor has a "fast" focal ratio, it also has a very limited and short backfocus distance (the length the drawtube must extend to bring an object into focus using an accessory). This means great accessories like the Takahashi premium 1/10th wave accuracy mirror star diagonal won't work when placed directly in the focuser. But, you can change that by using this adapter ring!
Now all you have to do is remove the chrome barrel of the diagonal by unthreading it from its body and replace it with the TDR0200 Takahashi FSQ Adapter for Takahashi Diagonal. Now the ring will screw right on to the dedicated camera angle adjuster of the FSQ-106 focuser which requires less "travel" to reach focus. Now rotate the camera angle adjuster and diagonal to the most comfortable observing position and enjoy the night!
