The Sigma 1.4x Teleconeverter increases your selected lens' focal length. This model offers full communication between the lens and camera allowing autofocus to operate at up to f/8. The teleconverter features one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element for reducing the appearance of chromatic aberrations and maintaining the mounted lens's quality. Compared to other teleconverters, the Sigma 1.4x has a low light loss at approximately 1 stop! Additionally, for protection, the TC-1401 is both dust and splashproof. Included is a soft zippered carrying case to protect the teleconverter when not in use.
What does a teleconverter do?
A teleconverter magnifies your lenses output allowing you to see further for example if you have a 70-200mm zoom lens that you want to get just a little further without you can attach the 1.4x converter onto the lens. This would turn the 70-200mm into a 98-280mm
