Optimally suited for imaging applications, the B1800 Blocking Filter included in this Lunt Solar LS100MT H-Alpha Solar Telescope Advanced Package also provides a larger field of view compared to the B1200. A 1.25” white light wedge, 2” and 1.25" diagonals, 27 mm and zoom eyepieces, polarizing filter, 2" to 1.25" adapter, mounting ring assembly with red handle, and 8" Vixen-style dovetail are also included in this package to go with the B1800.

Featuring top-of-the-line resolution and professional grade optics, the Lunt LS100MT H-Alpha Solar Refractor Telescope offers a vast array of solar and astronomical viewing opportunities as it is suitable for both daytime and nighttime use. The conveniently portable LS100MT is part of Lunt’s new line of Modular Telescopes. Regardless of whether you’re using the LS100MT in its standard configuration or not, its aperture is big enough at 100 mm to inspire any astronomer. Viewing the Sun through this LS100MT refractor enhances our closest star’s surface characteristics like prominences, filaments, granulation, and active regions. Offering the same high quality performance Lunt Solar is famous for, the LS100MT, with its Doppler true tuning system, yields the best possible views by allowing extremely subtle tuning modifications.

The only essential task you need to complete in order to enable night sky observing with the Lunt LS100MT is a simple removal of the Hydrogen Alpha module. This will allow you to use the FPL53 glass-coated ED APO lens on this refractor to probe our galaxy even after the Sun has set. Simply use either the 2” or 1.25” star diagonal provided in this package in conjunction with the eyepiece of your choosing. Additionally, as long as you have the right filter (not included), both White Light and Calcium K viewing can be accomplished with the LS100MT. Because of the LS100MT’s broad spectrum of possible uses and configurations, there is little reason to believe it’ll go unused for very long.

An exceptionally versatile instrument, the Lunt LS100MT can easily transition between Hydrogen-Alpha, Night Sky, Terrestrial, White Light, and Calcium K viewing. This makes it highly unlikely to ever drop out of your telescope rotation. In its base single stack configuration, the LS100MT will provide you with an extraordinary Hydrogen Alpha solar observing experience by allowing for a <.65 angstrom bandpass. An optional double stack module is also available for a <.45 angstrom bandpass that will allow the Sun's features to virtually leap off its surface as if in 3D.

True Doppler Tuning

True Doppler Tuning primarily allows for a shift into and away from the user, adding a 3-D like component to the viewing experience. Although the effect this has on prominences is minimal due to their location at the edge of the disk, it does have an impact on filaments and similarly active regions on the surface. Additionally, while looking at a filament at the center of the Sun, the user has the ability to Doppler shift from the base of the filament to the tip, thus following the filament through its structure toward you and away from you. This enhanced visual and imaging capability benefits the observer while providing a useful research tool for the avid hobbyist. Lastly, the LS100MT’s pressure tuning system allows for more precise tuning of desired features by an order of magnitude.

Optional Internal Double Stacking Module

While the Lunt LS100MT comes standard as a single-stacked system with a <0.65 Angstrom bandpass, you can have this reduced to <0.45 Angstroms with the help of an internal double stack module (not included; see recommended accessories). This enables high definition solar views with truly enhanced surface details that seem as if they are "popping out" at you. This does not require that the LS100MT be returned to the factory. In fact, purchasing the single-stacked version provides a more affordable way to obtain Lunt’s best solar scope while still leaving room for upgrades at a later date. However, if you do decide on the LFPT internal double stack module upgrade, you’ll be able to experience our closest star in finer detail than ever before.
