Graflex Super Speed Graphic 4x5 Large Format Camera w/ Graflex Optar 135mm f/4.5

Condition Notes:
The camera is in good cosmetic condition for its age and shows normal signs of use. The bellows are intact with no light leaks detected. The lens shutter has a functional issue: the shutter arm intermittently fails to lock, and more often than not the shutter fires immediately upon cocking across all shutter speeds. The glass optics are in pristine condition othwise. The electronic shutter control has not been tested. Due to the shutter behavior, the camera and lens are sold as-is and will require service for proper operation.

The Graflex Super Speed Graphic is a versatile and rugged 4x5 large format camera, well regarded for its combination of precision, portability, and advanced features. With it's graflok back, you can atach any graflok compatible accessory new or old opening up the realm of shooting possibilites. The camera supports interchangeable lenses via standard lens boards and offers front standard movements including rise, fall, shift, tilt, and swing for refined control over perspective and focus. Focusing options include a coupled rangefinder for handheld shooting and a ground glass screen for precise tripod work, along with a built-in optical viewfinder with parallax correction. Solid metal construction keeps the camera durable yet practical for field use.

Included is a Graflex Optar 135mm f/4.5 lens, a classic standard focal length for 4x5 that delivers a natural perspective similar to a 50mm lens on 35mm format. The f/4.5 maximum aperture allows reasonable low-light performance and depth-of-field control, and Optar lenses are known for good sharpness, contrast, and pleasing tonal rendering.
