SINGLE AXIS SOLAR TRACKER Model ST Specifications
The Eppley Solar Tracker, Model ST-1 or ST-3 is a clock motor, single axis tracker designed for pointing of normal incidence solar radiation measuring instruments (sNIP, NIP, AHF) at the sun. It makes one complete revolution every 24 hours. Daily adjustment of the Declination Scale and unwinding of the pyrheliometer cable is needed to ensure proper tracking.
This tracker is not ideal for long term measurements where the SMT Automatic Solar Tracker is better suited but can be very useful in short term studies, Pyrheliometeric Intercomparisons or where the budget for automated trackers is not available.
The clock motor tracker requires a steady input current so the input power requirements are for either 110 VAC, 60 Hz or 220 VAC, 50 Hz. Please specify which motor is needed.
The ST-1 is designated for holding a single sNIP or NIP while the ST-1 has a head designed for holding up to 3 NIPs. Please contact The Eppley Laboratory for the ST Tracker to hold multiple sNIP’s as the length has changed.
