Designed to help protect sensitive equipment from heat and radiation during solar observation sessions, Daystar Filters' UV/IR Cut Filter blocks ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) wavelengths. This filtering allows the surface to remain cool to the touch and won't shatter or crack when put under thermal stresses, preventing the harmful radiation from reaching imaging sensors, additional filters, or eyepieces.
It is also an ideal companion filter for nighttime astrophotography and imaging as it helps to prevent blurring, glare, and color abnormalities, while improving contrast when capturing images. Its filtering of these critical wavelengths also makes this an excellent luminance filter for LRGB imaging. This version of the UV/IR Cut filter has standard 2" filter threads to fit most imaging cameras, accessories, and filter wheels.
