Celestron 102mm f/9.8 Refractor Optical Tube Assembly
Mount & Tripod Not Included
This 4" achromatic refractor from Celestron is perfect for a budding amateur astronomer. Weighing in at just 9.5 pounds, the Omni XLT 102 OTA will attach easily to most any mount, even light weight models with limited load capacity. The included tube rings have a Vixen-style dovetail mounting bar attached to them so that the OTA can be mounted to the Celestron Advanced VX, CG-5, CG-4, or a wide range of alt-azimuth or equatorial mounts from Meade, Orion, etc.
The Celestron 102 mm refractor provides enough light-gathering ability to view all the best celestial objects in the solar system and beyond. In fact, the 4" optics collect 212X more light than the human eye! The telescope’s wide field of view allows you to appreciate celestial objects such as the Pleiades Star Cluster, Andromeda Galaxy, or simply panning the Milky Way, and wait till you get a look at the Moon, Saturn, or Jupiter!
The Celestron 102mm Omni XLT Refractor OTA sports quality optics that are fully coated with Celestron's famous StarLight XLT coatings. These optical coatings are used on Celestron's observatory-grade telescopes as well, and will help ensure crisp views and maximum light transmission on your Omni 102.
The smooth, easy to turn rack and pinion focuser accepts 1.25" accessories. The package includes a 1.25" star diagonal and a 25 mm eyepiece that will provide 40X magnification in a 50-degree field of view. We recommend you obtain a few more eyepieces to provide a choice of magnifications when viewing celestial, or terrestrial objects.
You can find those objects more easily with the included 6x30 optical finderscope. As its name suggests, this monocular-styled finder provides a low power, 6X magnification to easily locate and center objects in your eyepiece.
