Users are often overwhelmed by the task of choosing and matching filters and adapters when using a filter drawer. This process can be even more confusing for those who are new to astrophotography. To solve this problem, Askar introduces the multifunctional filter drawer. The major feature of this filter drawer is its integration of the most commonly used filters and telescope and astronomy camera adapters. With this five-in-one installation device, users don't need to worry about filter-related issues anymore.
Assembly Steps
Follow these steps to successfully assemble the Askar filter drawer and integrate it into your optical system:
- Take out the main body of the Askar filter drawer.
- Choose a proper camera adapter according to the thread type of your astronomy camera.
- Fix the camera adapter on the main body with 5 M3×8 countersink screws and a M2 wrench.
- Choose a proper telescope adapter according to the thread type of your telescope.
- Thread on the telescope adapter.
- Connect the filter drawer to your telescope.
- Connect your astronomy camera to the filter drawer.
- Ensure that all accessories are tightly connected and that the entire system has the correct back focus. You can add extra spacers (optional) to reach the required back focus.
- Choose a proper filter slider based on the filter you are going to use. For 1.25" or 2" mounted filters, thread them directly onto the filter slider. For unmounted filters (31mm, 36mm, or 50mm), place them into the circular groove and secure them with the filter holding ring and 3 M2×4 countersink screws.
- Insert the filter slider into the Askar filter drawer, and it's ready for astrophotography.
