As electronically-assisted astronomy becomes more and more popular, many an electronic or computer-commanded device is widely applied in both sky observation and astrophotography. For the purpose of better catering to our customers’ practical needs, we again upgrade the ACL200 lens, introducing the ACL200 AF kit (AF refers to automatic focusing) to the market. ACL200 AF kit enables users to operate the lens together with ZWO’s EAF (electronic automatic focuser) to realize auto and more accurate focusing.
Components
ACL200 AF kit contains several parts:
A black square holder, used to accommodate and support the EAF.
A 20-teeth synchronous pulley
A synchronous belt
An Askar Vixen-style dovetail plate
An M5×10 socket head cap screw
Two M4×10 socket head cap screws
Two M6×8 socket head cap screws
Two M4×10 button head screws
NOTE: the ACL200 lens and ZWO’s EAF appearing in the advertising videos or posters are not included in this kit, they are for demonstration only.
Assembly
First, take the original black dovetail plate off the ACL200 lens. There are one bigger and two smaller screw holes tapped on one side of the EAF holder, corresponding to the three screw holes at the bottom of the ACL200 lens collar. Connect the ACL200 lens and EAF holder with an M5×10 socket head cap screw and two M4×10 socket head cap screws. Then, insert the synchronous pulley onto the shaft of EAF and put the EAF with pulley into the holder. Wrap the synchronous belt around ACL200 lens and the pulley. Adjust and secure the EAF and its holder, then insert two M4×10 button-head screws into the slots carved out on the side of the holder, tighten them with a wrench. Put the ACL200 lens on the Askar Vixen-style dovetail plate, connect them with two M6×8 socket head cap screws.
Application
First, you must connect EAF and ASIAIR, another brilliant product from the same manufacturer which functions as a compact computer, with WiFi. Power both EAF and ASIAIR. Then you can control the EAF via a dedicated app installed on your iPad or smartphone by simply inputting the numbers.
